On Monday, the 34th UNFP Awards ceremony was held in grand style at the Palais Brongniart in Paris. During the event, France national team coach Didier Deschamps praised Ousmane Dembele after the winger was named Ligue 1 Player of the Season.
“I have to salute you! Your career has been far from smooth, with plenty of injuries along the way, but you’ve always had a strong spirit and come back stronger each time,” Deschamps said. “You are an artist on the pitch, and an excellent role model for the younger generation. You know how to let go of setbacks and adjust your mindset. The difficult years are behind you, but those experiences have shaped and matured both your life and your career.”
